The Supreme Court today ruled 5-4 in favor of Hobby Lobby in the company's lawsuit against the federal government mandating that Hobby Lobby supply birth control as part of its government mandated health care coverage. For those who don't understand the importance of this ruling,
this article I published over a year ago will give background. Not everyone will agree with the judgment of the United States Supreme Court, but in my opinion, this is one of the more significant (and good) rulings in the last 30 years. It will be interesting to see how the court's ruling will be challenged by companies which are publicly held entities (unlike Hobby Lobby) and desire the same freedom. Today is definitely a small step forward in the right direction.

This is the best news I have heard in a long time. Thank goodness the Supreme Court is reigning in this out of control President.

BTW, I do shop occasionally at Hobby Lobby, but I do avoid the chipped merchandise!

I tend to try to avoid posting on political issues but I will make the exception and be in the minority on this topic. I read your other post on this matter and couldn't really understand your point about Germany or the Orwellian State. The law the Supreme Court overruled was meant to ensure women will be covered with contraceptives which consists of birth control and the morning after pill. I understand some Christian-based companies not being forced to do anything that compromises their faith but I don't see that birth control or the morning after pill is killing unborn life having researched further information. These methods are made to prevent pregnancy. I myself find myself torn on this Supreme Court event because I do support freedom of religion and faith-based companies right not to go against their faith but other hand don't share the anti-contraceptives beliefs which I differentiate from killing unborn life. Didn't mean to rant to long and my views may not be popular on this blog but just wanted to put it out there. God Bless
