The Corona Virus spreads, the stock market plunges, universities cancel class gatherings, major league sports suspend their seasons, the NCAA cancels all college championship tournaments, and people practice social distancing.
There are 5 reasons these unique events in 2020 make this year a great year to be alive.
1. We discover purpose is better than pleasure.
My friend Rick Warren has written a book entitled The Purpose Driven Life. When we feel good about life because we are surrounded by those things that give us pleasure, when the pleasures are gone, we are more likely to find our purpose. Rick says we were planned for God's pleasure, formed for God's family, created to become like Christ, shaped for serving God, and made for a mission. Worth thinking about when you can't find your favorite NBA game on television.
"When you have a sense of wholeness in God, everything comes together for good and will settle you down. It's wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of our lives." Philippians 4:7 (The Message)2. We learn character matters more than comfort.
John Wooden was a great basketball coach and an amazing encourager of young men. He was fond of telling his players:
"The true test of a man's character is what he does when no one is watching."Social distancing allows me to ask the question, "Who am I?" I am who I am when nobody is watching. Ask yourself in 2020, "What am I thinking of when I am alone?" or maybe even better "Is my life lived as a display of good character at all times or is my life lived in a desire for great comfort at all times?" 2020 allows me to ask the difficult questions surrounding my character.
"We rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope." (Romans 5:3-4)
3. We practice selflessness over self-absorption.
The purpose of withdrawing from society is not so much to protect ourselves as it is to protect others - the most vulnerable in our society - from the Corona Virus. In 1918, the Spanish Flu killed mostly young men and women n their 20s. In 2020, Covid 19 is mostly taking the lives of those older in years. There's something very refreshing in life when we begin thinking of others more than ourselves.
I have a close friend in Enid who's earned his Bachelors Degree in Chemistry and Physics, his Masters in Chemical Engineering, his Ph.D. in Molecular Engineering, and his M.D. in cancer treatments. He is now working on his MBA. My friend is curing lymphoma. Two patents he possesses will save lives as soon as they pass peer review and clinical testing. At lunch the other day, this man told me he didn't care if he made a dime off his discoveries. All he cares about is helping people who are dying. That's selflessness, and it trumps self-absorption every time.
"Do nothing out of selfish ambition or pride. Rather, in humility, value others above yourself." (Philippians 2:3)4. We contemplate the eternal as much as the temporal.
The British Broadcasting Company reported in an investigative series fifteen years ago that "contemplating death changes how you think." It changes how you think for the better.
What a great time to be alive. The entire world is thinking about death and mortality. The British only discovered what the Bible has been telling us all along:
"Prepare to meet your God." (Amos 4:12)One of the great blessings of the Corona Virus 2020 is that we learn to postpone our immediate gratification (assemblies in sports arenas) because of our future comprehension (a wide-spread virus that kills). The same principle of farsightedness is needed when it comes to preparation to meet our God. There's far greater benefit contemplating God these days than there is collecting toilet paper.
5. We awaken to gratefulness when we lose our settledness.
Nobody likes disruption in life, but the old axiom, "absence makes the heart grow fonder" is true.
Rather than taking for granted our jobs, our families, our cities, our hobbies, our gatherings, and our lives, 2020 is teaching us gratefulness because we are in a season of loss.
"Giving thanks always and for everything". (Ephesians 5:20)2020 is already turning out to be a great year.

I agree. Very much so!
Wade,
Today, (Friday the 13th) we were scheduled to fly to Seattle and visit my brother until we were asked not to come.
My 93-year-old cousin’s nursing home has been quarantined. Now he’s isolated from his wife.
I know that man’s sorrow is God’s opportunity, but the year 2020 may be like the guy hitting himself with a hammer and was asked why: “It feels so good when I quit.”
Thanks for some good thoughts to consider, Wade.
"The purpose of withdrawing from society is not so much to protect ourselves as it is to protect others - the most vulnerable in our society - from the Corona Virus."
compared with your previous post's statement concerning the virus:
"If you're living your life differently today because the Coronavirus has a 2.3% mortality rate, you're not yet comprehending that everyone (which means "you") has a 100% death rate. "
So I guess you are living your life differently because of the virus? Guess you're good to go planting those trees by yourself. Just joshing you. :) :)
I've seen the R0 values of the covid-19 reported to be all over the board from something like 1.8 to 6. Airborne for up to three hours. Infectious from 3 to 4 meters away. Two or three different strains so far. Too much contradictory info so far floating around.

Rex, I recently sent this out to everyone in my immediate family since we seem to never have a very long break from circumstances that can suck the joy out of life. It so happens that Frank and Wade share similar friends.

Ken,
Your reference reminded me of when our pastor traded places with a Black preacher for one Sunday.
We heard: “Every Christian had just left a ‘storm’, was going to a ‘storm’, or was in a ‘storm’.
Ken,
Just reread my last comment, and I’m in the mood to put Celia Rivenbark who is the New York Times bestselling author and columnist in a STORM!
What she wrote covered fourth a page in yesterday's newspaper:
“Don’t you feel better with Mike Pence in charge? Yeah, me neither!” WHITE HOUSE PRESS CONFERENCE, SOMETIME IN THE VERY NEAR FUTURE – Vice President Pence will now address reporters with an update on the status of the coronavirus.
Pence: Thank you for being here today…I would like to lead the administration’s response to the coronavirus outbreak. Here goes: “Go on, get along now, git! Git out of here, coronavirus.” I believe that covers it nicely. Thank you for coming.”
She went on to quote Pence as saying: “Science has no place in a discussion of a potentially fatal virus. It’s God’s will.”
Reporter: “Uhhhhhh…”
Pence: “I wouldn’t expect you to understand that. Say, are you a Christian?”
Reporter: “I was raised a Roman Catholic.”
Pence: “So that’s a ‘no’ then.”
Reporter: “Aside from telling the coronavirus to go away, do you have another plan?
Pence: “Yes. I also intend to rebuke it.”
Yikes, I wrote: " It so happens that Frank and Wade share similar friends. " Mutual friends, not similar.
Rex - the cognitive dissonance from GOV and mainstream media is so thick it's unbelievable.
Seems like the solution is quite simple:
"What was completely missing from today’s live address was even a single mention about nutrition, nutraceuticals or natural strategies for boosting immune function and preventing the spread of the virus using solutions that are available right now. While China is studying vitamin C as a safe, affordable treatment against coronavirus, the USA is run entirely by the corrupt, toxic pharmaceutical industry.
This entire thing is being run by Big Pharma and the retailers that sell pharmaceuticals (Wal-Mart, Target, CVS, Amazon, etc.).
With this pandemic, America has truly become a “pharma state” under the complete control of the pharmaceutical giants."

Hope not, but it looks like this mess is just beginning here in the States. Local gov, businesses, and churches are shutting down here. People have panicked and food stores are being emptied. People filling barrels of fuel at the gas station. Short term resupplying will be interesting to watch.
Ken
"In the U.S. there are over 1,600 confirmed cases, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), with 41 deaths. Makary said that the number of cases, though, is likely much higher.
“Don’t believe the numbers when you see, even on our Johns Hopkins website, that 1,600 Americans have the virus,” he said. “No, that means 1,600 got the test, tested positive. There are probably 25 to 50 people who have the virus for every one person who is confirmed.”
He added: “I think we have between 50,000 and half a million cases right now walking around in the United States.”"

Hey REX RAY,
I think your 'columnist' is a HUMOR columnist who writes political satire, and she does not intend to be taken seriously.
On the other hand, political satire in literature is a time-honored way of confronting the powerful in countries where there is little freedom to do so directly.
It would be better if our media were not so divided and attacked on all levels, but it has been, so what is left for writers now but satire to convey by exaggeration what might be certain concerns some wish to share with others . . . the goal being to prompt a discussion among all sides at best.
Since the days of the courts of England and of 'Gulliver's Travels', 'satire' has had its uses, but it's use of 'humor' and 'exaggeration' are sometimes more effective when a dialogue is opened up that can reveal what may only be the concerns of a few while others remain complacent or complicit.
Pence has presented himself in a certain way. He has 'controlled' this image. Satire is a threat to that image, IF and only if the satire has some grounds in reality. That is what readers can discuss amongst themselves, so it does have some uses that are practical.
Satire is a political and a literary tool. It can be abused. It can also elevate a discussion that might be productive of understanding about the concerns of others. That depends on what is at stake and what 'elephants in the room' are having lights shone on them. A public person is open to examination in a free society.
So 'it's just humor' in the political world doesn't always work to diminish the power of free speech in a free society as satirical humor slices through a lot of pretense of both the 'subject' and the ones who are attempting to 'expose' the subject. It's complicated.
How's your family doing? I've kept your brother in my prayers. I hope he does not suffer.
Do not get overwrought by all this political stuff. Pray for those who are innocents who suffer from the neglect and abuse of the powerful, instead. They are worth standing up for in the eyes of God.
CHRISTIANE,
My brother is not in pain. His daughter called yesterday and said he’s in good spirits. Said he had lives of a cat, but doesn’t know what number he’s on.
Which is more important a ‘rich land’ or a healthy body?
“If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. [stop coronavirus?] (2 Chronicles 7:14 NLT)
Do Christians need a revival?
It seems to me that God does His best work ... the best "rescues" ... when we're facing problems beyond our control. Think economic downturn vs. losing bets... tragic disease vs. small discomforts ... "do or die" situations vs. business as usual. If that's true now, then let's rejoice at the opportunity to witness overwhelming miracles.
It's going to be interesting!
CHRISTIAN,
Melody, my brother’s daughter, called tonight and asked me to talk with him as he is in a bad way. The dialysis people couldn’t treat him today because his oxygen level was too low. I don’t know what their plans are.
CHRISTIANE,
Sorry for misspelling your name, however I believe it describes you.
The word melody didn’t describe Melody tonight as she was almost in tears about her father. I wasn’t happy either. She wanted me to talk with him. His nurse is sick.
I did about all the talking; about old times. When we were 13, mother bought us a horse for $15. We named him “Lightening”. We were 6 miles from home, and rode him back without a saddle. He had a very boney back. Next day, we were so sore we could hardly walk.
Putting the pieces together gets even tougher with the knowledge that all governments blatantly lie (with USA leading the pack), it becomes so evident the little unpopular guys with their extensive research are doing a much better job once again than the well known big shots.

I have anecdotal evidence that supports the now known cover up the CDC admitted to the other day, namely that Covid-19 has been here in the states for longer than thought, and has been purposefully misdiagnosed as flu (this explains why their first test kits were a purposed failure, and why they are adopting the idiotic ‘don’t test don’t tell’ stance with people who are asymptomatic).
My wife and my friend’s wife got sick this past January with what seemed like the flu, only it progressed in both cases to much difficulty breathing. My friend almost rushed his wife to the ER it was so bad. Took our wives four to six weeks for their respiratory systems to clear. Was not typical for either party given their history of illnesses and dietary lifestyle. Both of us men only got mild symptoms.
Ken
Also interesting - Ebay sales of hyperbaric O2 chambers have been soaring since January. Good to see people waking up. FDA one long said one needs a Rx to purchase while very few are listening.
Ken
REX RAY,
I am sorry to hear about your brother's crisis. I am re-lighting the vigil candles and will keep him in prayer for the near future in hopes that he can still be helped. Be at peace. The Good Lord watches over us all. We are in His Hands and His care.
The suffering of this illness, for some people is bad. The lungs swell, inflammation sets in as your body tries to fight off the virus. The lungs become hard and breathing can become difficult and impossible to catch a breath.
For those with compromised immune systems, CPOD, emphesema, or any lung condition the pain will be excruciating.
Hospitals do not have enough ventilators, or nor world wide.
The glib original post on this virus is shocking in it's amount of ignorance.
The virus is airborne. It can be breathed in standing next to a guy who shows no symptoms.
Panic is a human condition. It is what we do. Education, can alleviate panic.
When people who are ill are fighting for breath I am sure they are not basking in their purpose or character traits.
I believe your post Wade misses the mark completely. Instead of being introspective. Donate to your food bank, check on your neighbors, make sure your young families have tylenol, or Ibuprophen. Help those who get sick in a safe way.
Bring the elderly, and compromised food etc.
Children seem to be less targeted in this NOVEL Corvid 19 virus. Help the parents by watching those kids outside.
It's not a time to navel gaze and contemplate your own purpose.
This virus is New , hence it's name NOVEL. Some people may have some more tolerance than others if they have had other forms of coronavirus, that might help their immunity but they are not the same strain. There is no cure, or immunizations and won't be for a long time.
It has not even peaked yet.
Thanks CHRISTIANE,
Our church attendance was down to about half this morning. The service started with a short movie on “NO” and “Yes” ways of greeting people. (shaking hands vs: a wave etc.)
"Panic is a human condition. It is what do."
Bunkababy - fear is a built in emotional/bodily response which can be lifesaving in many cases, but panic is when fear gets out of control, and often does more harm than good, to one's self and those around you.
I agree, Wade's post was missing the key element of being prepared - both from the virus, people's panicking, and the fallout from economic collapse. Tornadoes and storms need to be responded to with a healthy fear so we can jump in our shelters to avoid bodily injury.
The latest study from the Lancet **if accurate** says Covid-19 is about 57 times more deadly than the common flu. It can hide in the respiratory system up to 37 days being asymptomatic. Once hospitals are flooded, the death rate pulses upwards to around 20%.

Some advice on the use of hand sanitizers that everyone is going nuts with - a general rule of thumb for us is if it is harmful to go in your mouth, then think twice about putting it on the skin (body's largest organ).
We've found what seems like a better way - wear latex or nitrile gloves (automotive stores have the more durable ones) if you have to go to a public place and after you are done your errand, put a small dab of alcohol hand sanitizer on your gloves and rub them together. A very small amount goes a long way since your skin is not absorbing it. Reuse the gloves.
You can also mix water and activated hydrogen peroxide in a dark spray bottle to disinfect your skin or belongings. Not sure of the ratio as our daughter makes if for us since she uses it at the vet. Much healthier for your skin.
Also for even better protection, wear a mask (put Nozin nasal gel just inside your nose before you put the mask on...again not good to use long-term, but will provide better protection than just a mask) and googles or a face shield.
Ken
sorry, goggles not googles
CHRISTIANE,
Thanks. Just received word since my brother cannot have dialysis, Hospice is scheduled to start. He didn’t like everyone being glum, and insisted they sing “The Eyes of Texas Are Upon You”. Said he sang louder than anyone.
I can’t help but wonder if he was a millionaire, our medical people would try harder.
Oh REX RAY,
I had a thought that might happen, but I hoped it would not. That is how my father passed, as he elected to stop dialysis because he would not agree to an amputation of his leg and he had been recently diagnosed with lung tumors.
I will still keep vigil. Now, more than ever, as this is a solemn time for you and your family and you need support for those who care about you now. It is a hard time. I hope the hospice nurses keep him comfortable as possible.
And now, in the midst of all this 'virus' thing, too, which makes travel publicly very, very risky.
I will also call on some dear friends who will pray for your brother and for you all at this time. I know Wade will pray also. Give my best to Judy. I am so sorry to hear this news, but I had thought it might come to this in time.
Candles are lit. I will call my friends to help pray. Go and rest for a while. May Christ give your heart peace. God Bless!
Ken,
Google states worldwide deaths from Coronavirus is 4,300.
https://www.cdc.gov/flu/pandemic-resources/1918-pandemic-h1n1.html
“50 million world-wide deaths and 500 million infected.”
My brother’s wife, Bev, lives in Arizona, and he lives with his daughter in Seattle. Its been several years since they’ve communicated. We’ve been told not to mention her as it makes him sad.
I’m thinking my brother’s poem of many years ago is becoming a reality.
To Bev, my wife
You were made to skip, to kiss, to caress.
I was made to behold your tenderness.
You were made to smile, to charm, to please.
I was made to court, to love, to tease.
We have run across virgin fields unplowed
And laughed as we watched the mountain top kissed the cloud
You were made to sing, to laugh, to sigh.
I was made to hold you by my side.
You were made to architect the home, the child.
I was made to climb, to joist, to tame the wild.
Together we marched into sweethearts’ promised land
And answered ever call of its high command.
Yes, we have danced on the valley’s velvet floor.
Yes, we have huddled in the cold at danger’s door.
We have lifted our voices in the joy of victory’s cheer.
We have prayed in sadness of lost causes’ bitter tears.
But now the years have piled up high,
And time begins to dim the ear and eye.
Our walk has slowed to such an easy gate
That it matters not if we are early or late.
If I should leave too soon this sunlit place,
I’ll watch for you from the hills of Grace.
And when you shall leave to earth your charms,
I’ll greet you here…in Heaven’s arms.
Rex, I am sorry to hear of your brother's physical condition, that you cannot visit him, but rejoice to know that he knows Jesus.
Regarding Google stats: Google is a overtly corrupt company. They have an agenda to deceive, manipulate, censor and control public thought. Trump was foolish for giving them the reins to develop the site for covid-19 testing, but I guess 'birds of a feather flock together'. They've basically destoyed Youtube since they've acquired it. Better choice to use Duckduckgo or similar for searches.
It's amazingly difficult to verify info these days which is why I highly prefer independent media as they have less reason to deceive and lie. I tend to believe the reports of China using incinerators night and day, and Iran digging mass graves to get rid of the deceased quickly.
The Spanish flu lasted from two to three years depending on sources. The comparison like you (and Rush) are making is terribly inadequate at this time due to Covid-19 only beginning suposedly late last year. Too many factors could influence mortality - nationality, use of weaponized 5g, or immune system dysfunction from chemicals like roundup or particulate fallout from SAI's, etc. BTW - they are spraying non-stop here and the skies look worse than checker boards every morning. Day after day of partly cloudy.
Looks like they should've named that flu the "kansas laboratory flu" since its maker and manufacturer (as usual) gets to control the narrative. https://rense.com/general74/amak.htm
My poking around leads me to evidence that this Covid-19 was designed similarly to the 1918 flu, but is much more high tech features.

excerpt from above link:
"Conclusion
The COVID-19 virus is converted from a traditional coronavirus to a retrovirus and can be treated successfully with Lamivudine or other reverse transcriptase inhibitors. The treatment must be widespread and liberal to prevent that humans become chronic carriers. HIV/AIDS patients might forget to take their antiretroviral medication with no other than the detrimental effect on themselves, but a chronic carrier of the coronavirus will infect anyone in their surroundings by coughing. The virus attacks both lung and heart tissue. Heart infection has caused seemingly normal people walking in the street to fall to the ground dead in the wuhan region, cardiac arrest. Video footage exists on the internet. Mortality is referred as high as 40-50 % in retirement home in Washington State to one to two percent. This a total acopalyctic situation facing humanity. I am sorry to say that the doctors in the task force are there to facilitate the spread not to halt it. They follow the orders of their handlers. Anthony Fauci, the current leading menber of the White house Corona task force was totally uninterested september of 2014 when informed of dr. Gorbee Logans results. https://edition.cnn.com/2014/09/27/health/ebola-hiv-drug/"
God can be trusted in life or in death as the best is yet to be! :)

a better link than the one I provided above:
https://telegra.ph/Tamaida-Shimeras-blog-on-corona-virus-COVID-19-03-02
"The most effective way to spread a virus intentionally would be to add it to the water-tank that moisturizes air in shopping malls and other big buildings with a centralized air conditioning. The legionella bacteria (legionella pneumophila) that cause Legionnaires disease spreads this way. The fact that all patients and staff (allegedly 80 individuals) in a psychiatric hospital in Korea has got the disease when the total infected in Korea is less than 1000 individuals strongly suggests that the corona-virus is spread in such a centralized manner. The same applies with allegedly 80% of a Christian congregation becoming infected. It would seem that people behind the creation of the virus also attempts to speed up its spread by adding it to air conditioning systems."
This was a long time coming. Over a hundred years in fact. Last fall the FEDS were pumping in billions of dollars in the banks trying to sustain and prop up the biggest ponzi scheme in the world (1913's creation of the federal reserve) and hardly anyone was talking about it, but Glenn Beck and others were. Our fake monetary system was crashing once and for all so the release of this new bioweapon was perfectly timed as a cover or distraction from the real cause of our inevitable economic crisis.
We'll most likely see legislation for forced vaccinations like Denmark currently has.

Stanford hospital board.
Coronavirus may not show sign of infection for many days. By the time someone has fever or a cough, and go to the hospital, the lung is usually 50% Fibrosis and it's too late.
Experts provide a simple self-check that can be done every morning:
Take a deep breath and hold it for more than 10 seconds. If you complete it without coughing, discomfort, stiffness, or tightness, it proves there is no Fibrosis in the lungs, indicating no infection.
Make sure your mouth & throat are moist and never dry. Take a few sips of water every 15 minutes. If the virus gets in your mouth, drinking water will wash it down into the stomach. Once there, your stomach acid will kill all the virus. Otherwise, the virus can enter your windpipe and into the lungs.
Coronavirus pneumonia is a dry cough with no runny nose. It first infects the throat, so you'll have a sore throat lasting 3 to 4 days. The virus then blends into a nasal fluid that enters the trachea, and then the lungs; causing pneumonia. This takes about 5 to 6 days. With pneumonia comes high fever and difficulty in breathing. The nasal congestion is not like the normal kind. You feel like you're drowning. It's imperative you seek immediate attention.

Thanks Anonymous,
For correcting the false information that was sent to me. (I thought it sounded good.)
Melody call today and I talked to my brother. It’s a matter of a few days. He could hear; tried to talk, but couldn’t. She plans to place some of his ashes in Seattle, some at the grave of her sister in Colorado, and some a fourth a mile from here next to our father and mother. His ‘Foot Marker’ will be at my gravesite. My tombstone only lacks the date.
Wade, for some it’s great to be alive and for some it’s not.
REX RAY,
it's at these times that the anchor WILL hold
prayers are continuing
I loaned my only copy of the book my brother wrote. Yesterday, the man said he had read half way and has concluded my brother is an icon. The book is mostly about this:
https://www.alaska.org/detail/the-hez-ray-sports-complex
This link has one MAJOR error. It states: “Hez Ray spearheaded the effort to disassemble the building and fly it to Fairbanks for resurrection as Fairbanks’ first indoor ice arena.”
The abandoned World War II aircraft hangar is 210 feet wide and 300 feet long. It was taken to Fairbanks by a convoy of trucks and NOT by airplanes.
His son, Hez Ray Jr. is mailing me a box of his books (52). When I get them, I’ll mail a copy free to anyone that wants one.
More people are waking up and connecting the dots.
"If the outbreak has led many to be suspicious of the official story, it is exactly because of the history of U.S. biological warfare and the elite’s potentially genocidal and pessimistic worldview that the only way to prevent the demise of humanity is by thinning the herd." So CDC, US Military, John's Hopkins, Gates, WHO, etc. are all in the same bed manufactured by PAC'M and funded by tax dollars.

Hey REX RAY,
my thoughts are with you and with the family
prayers continue
CHRISTIANE,
I knew from Melody’s text this morning: “Call me”, that my brother could say: “May there be no moaning of the bar, when I put out to sea.”
It’s easy to say but hard to follow; Weep not for those that live with the Lord.
That’s all I need to say but THANK YOU.
REX RAY,
sad words, not unexpected but still difficult to read
You are grieving and that makes me sad for you and for the family.
Prayers will continue in the way of my faith as is the custom in my Church, so you can know you will still be prayed for now in this time of mourning.
Please know that you can hold on to this prayer, dear friend:
"JESUS CHRIST, I TRUST IN YOU"
CHRISTIANE,
What you say is so true. Thank you.
Christiane, I saw your inquiry yesterday regarding if I was spewing Russian propaganda, but had no time to reply.
Our country has been infected with communistic idealogy for over a century, and since that time it has gained a more than significant foothold in every nook and cranny of society - fed/state/local gov, corporations, church, schools, law enforcement, health care system and its "science", judges and their kangaroo courts...you name it.
Why else would a government continuously be caught experimenting on it's own people with dangerous biological viruses and vaccines unless those in control were sociopaths/psychopaths? The constitution and bill of rights protects life, liberty and prosperity - abortion is the total opposite.
Look at this website's USA population projection for 2025 from 2017. They are projecting an approx 227 million decrease. http://www.deagel.com/country/ I wonder if Bill Gates is tied to them in some way?
If Satan himself handed out awards to the nations that sickened, maimed and murdered the most people I believe the USA would be in the front of the line. How many bombs have been dropped that killed innocent people (millions?) that our taxes payed for over in the middle east since our gov created the bogey man out of one kleenex with a couple boogies on it and duped us with the 9/11 event?
So to answer your question - Russia has effectively propagandized us to the point that we are our worst enemy. I hope that helps. Ken
A lot more folks need to research this line of thought regarding why this Covid-19 seems to devastate some people more than others before these sights are pulled like Building 7 was.

For REX RAY and the family:
"“The Peace of Wild Things”
Wendell Berry
Listen
When despair for the world grows in me
and I wake in the night at the least sound
in fear of what my life and my children’s lives may be,
I go and lie down where the wood drake
rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds.
I come into the peace of wild things
who do not tax their lives with forethought
of grief. I come into the presence of still water.
And I feel above me the day-blind stars
waiting with their light. For a time
I rest in the grace of the world, and am free." (Wendell Berry)
The Peace of Christ be with you during this time.
Prayers will continue. Try to rest for a while.
Hello Ken,
You seem to be a very fearful person. I hope you find peace.
My comment yesterday was not well-thought-out. So I removed it, but had no time to re-address my concern for your words.
I have no wish to take issue with anyone right now as this is a time of national crisis and we need to be helping one another if we can and supporting those who are over-burdened if we can. I don't see much purpose in conjectures about conspiracy theories and plots against our freedoms and our people myself, but I also have had moments where I wondered about things that had happened for which there were 'too many questions' that went unanswered. I was able to get past that and I do remember having my own fears and worries that were unfounded, so I know it can be a kind of trial. You have my best wishes for finding peace in the midst of your own worries. God Bless!
CHRISTIANE,
Melody plans to divided his ashes on her sister’s grave in Colorado so long ago, in Alaska, and on our parent’s graves ½ mile from here, and a memorial service this summer at Bonham, Texas (5 miles from here).
Some of his last words were: “Sunday, best day of the week.”

Genuine concern from reading the road map of history is what I am. I suspect we will be hiding covid-19 victims under the table in place of Jews.
Glad that Christ's kingdom is not of this world, and that he will one day make all things new. Our hope is not in GOV. In fact, my friend from Venezuela has been sending money for a couple years back to his parents to keep them from eating rats and cats, and we both think our economy will end up similar to Venezuela.
Yes, there will be plenty of opportunities ahead to lay down our lives to help those who are in need.
Adios Amigos! Ken
REX RAY,
prayers are with you and the family now,
try to rest for a while.
We are all of us in the Hands of God
CHRISTIANE,
My brother’s wife’s name is Bev. Yesterday, she was glad to hear that Judy yelled for joy when we heard I’m about to have a third Great Grandchild. Bev likes babies as she’s had four girls and a boy.
Once, Bev was trying to console them when they were crying because their gold-fish died. She told them it was in ‘fish-heaven’, but they cried louder; saying, “No Mama, Daddy flushed it down the toilet.”
Fairbanks, Alaska had ice-skating school races on the frozen Chena River for school kids. In the girl’s race, a senior that won the year before was the favorite. As she ‘coasted’ to the finish line, the crowd went wild. She thought the cheers were for her, but a small girl pasted and won the race. The winner was Bev, an eighth-grader.
At 18, Hez hounded me to know what kissing a girl felt like. I thought it wasn’t any of his business and told him it was like kissing a dead fish.
He finally got enough nerve to kiss a girl when he was a senior in college. He’d fallen in love with Bev, a freshman. After many dates, he kissed the top of her head.
“What was that?”
“That’s a kiss!”
“You call that a kiss; I’ll show you what a kiss is!”
MY BROTHER LIED TO ME!
Yesterday, I felt sorry for her. In a nursing home and poor health, she said, “I’m ready for heaven.”
REX RAY,
I am reassured. Even in the midst of grief, you can still tell a good story. That's a good sign.
I'm wondering why they don't postpone your visit to Bonham to the VA, as here on the East Coast almost all face-to-face appointments are being postponed or made 'virtual' (whatever that means),
so my dear spouse's big lung appointment was postponed for three months down the road . . . time enough for the COVID-19 to be evaluated and for people to be able to take precautions with a little more knowledge than is now to be had.
I would not be surprised if you got a call postponing that appointment for a time.
Things here are quiet. My son has ordered us to stay home, less grocery shopping or serious business, and I let him think he is in charge so he won't worry so much. I can't control my good husband who says 'I'm going to store if I want to' and I'm leaving the dear man in the Hands of God to be protected from harm, as there is no reasoning with him in these strange times, no. Panic buying has emptied many shelves, but we have 'take-out' food we can order and my mysterious soups created from dried peas and beans and such, and as long as we don't run out of coffee and tea, I will remain somewhat sane. :)
I hope you are doing as well as can be expected though I can imagine it's been a difficult time. Keep telling stories about your brother because I think it would be a good thing for you to celebrate his life in this way. Your stories are the best.
Try to rest enough and eat well and keep away from crowds of people for a season, as that is how the virus can be spread and we old folk are ripe for harvest, so I hear. Be safe.
My prayers for your family continue during this time. I hope your part of the country is spared the worst of this virus.

CHRISTIANE,
Thanks. Your words were comforting.
No cancelations at the VA. They had a policeman present when they checked my temperature and asked questions. The pacemaker check was super-fast.
Two hours later, a doctor removed a mole from my face to check for cancer. The only restrictions there was if someone had driven me, they would have had to remain in the car.
Our Sunday’s Church services have been canceled.
