Let us pray that those who are affected will be convicted of sin and see that they are in greater danger than they realize unless they repent.
Also, let us pray that we as Christians would be reminded of our the ultimate fate of our temporal riches.
Truly God's mercies are renewed each day

I love that Psalm you quoted.
Seeking the Face of the Lord is a great theme in the OT, wherein the yearning for God's Presence is seen.
Soon, in my faith, we begin a season of preparation for celebration of the fulfillment of that yearning with the coming of Emmanuel, God With Us. And in that season of Advent, many of the longings for Him in the OT will again be read in our liturgy.
Here is a Psalm (song) that reflects that great yearning

Wade, the end of the verse.."where your heart is where your treasure is"
I believe it is possible to own and enjoy all the many things we enjoy on earth. Land, homes, cars,etc...it is our heart attitude about them.is where the problem is. Or even people can have a wrong place in our hearts.I have even seen ministries for the Lord that meant more to a person than the Lord. King Davis said, Lord give me no more than my portion lest I am too satisfied and forget about you, nor give me poverty less I steal and bring dishonor to your name. I have never seen a moving van next to a hearse...thanks for the reminder that CHRIST IS SUFFICIENT!! Especially with the holidays looming.
PEGE-You are correct. In Dave Ramsey's financial peace course he teaches us how to have nice things. It takes sweat and perserverance. In proverbs the Bible says "A faithful man will abound in blessings, but he who hastens to be rich will not go unpunished." Prov 28:20 And the Psalmist says "If riches increase, do not set your hear on them." Ps 62:10 And during this holiday season, we see folks scurrying around spending money they don't have in order to obtain stuff they don't need. I like what Calvin Coolidge said; "There is no dignity quite so impressive, and no independence quite so important, as living within your means."
