For what it's worth, I recently posted on the difference between doing salvation and living salvation. I think God spoke a little bit to me. We don't have faith in what God is giving so we make a new law. Argh. Guilty.

Of course this is absolute, unquestioned proof that you are an antinomian libertine who denies the Bible.

Marty, if Wade is "an antinomian libertine who denies the Bible." (spoken tongue in cheek) then count me in that group too. I was a refugee from the united methodist church where we called sodomite marriage service performing clergy the identical name. In the UMC, Wade would have been called "ultra right wing & hate-filled" or maybe even worse "intolerant". I much prefer the SBC where the only thing I have to worry about in the clergy is whether or not they are watching me for any sign of a "PPL".
I know it is Sunday, which likely means less traffic here, and this observation has been made before, but does anyone think it says something that where a post provides a foundation for a fight there are 200 and 300+ comments, but on a wonderful post like this one there are only five??? The song proclaims the good news of Jesus and that is more than enough for a hearty amen or two!! (much more than that isn't usually too accepted in baptist culture) :)
I don't listen much to Christian music anymore (except songs during worship on Sunday). But this video and song is very good. Makes me wonder what else I am missing....

Note also, Wade and Volfan, that it isn't that keeping my words equals love; rather, out of the changed heart (changed by the grace of God by faith in Jesus), changed and empowered to love, one is able and desires to keep Jesus' words.

While it may be true that only a few in the SBC hold to the Scriptural position that only women should hold teaching authority over men, every Independent Baptist I know of (and there are tens of thousands just like me) also hold the same Biblical position.
You are also wrong to take your criticism of God's people before the lost world (I Corinthians 6:1-5). Your attitude is one of division and self-glorification. While I personally want nothing to do with the SBC on an organizational level because it long ago departed from obedience to the Scriptures in the matter of separation from Bible-denying liberalism (of which my father was one [a so-called "missionary" to Honduras who believed that there were two "gods" in the Bible-one of "love" in the NT, and one of anger in the OT], nevertheless Brother Paige Patterson is to be commended for doing what he can to bring his Seminary back to its biblical roots. God will hold you accountable for your ungodly words of criticism against his servant who is striving for complete obedience to Him. I think he should do a lot more, like get out of the SBC altogether, but at least he is trying.
God's people need to be very careful about criticizing the servants of the Lord. You would do better by removing yourself from the SBC and starting your own mess rather than making the enemies of God happy by publicizing your disagreement with Mr. Patterson, in my opinion.

One additional thought:
I noticed that you like John Gill. You should beware of his extreme views on election. He did not invite sinners to the Savior, because of those views. Perhaps this is why I find so many Baptists today are infatuated with this man and Calvinism in general. Their churches have ceased to preach the Gospel and their members never go soul-winning or witness to anyone. They are as cold and dead as a cemetery, so the pastors resort to Calvinist theology to put a fig-leaf over their disobedience to the command of Christ to preach the Gospel to all the world. God is not pleased with this state of affairs and will remove the candlestick of any church that refuses to preach the Gospel (ie your church will wither on the vine just like the other mainline "churches" who have turned to fables instead of the Bible).
